Yadkin County 4-H Dixie Classic Fair Participation

Yadkin County 4-H

October 7th-13th is National 4-H Week and we want you to join in on our fun! Yadkin County 4-H was shining bright at the Dixie Classic Fair this year! Our very own 4-H volunteer, Ashley Wilbanks, along with other volunteers, helped 4-H’ers design a 4-H fair booth to represent Yadkin County 4-H. The theme this year for the booth was “Your Beacon to Fun,” so it was decided that the booth would incorporate lighthouses. Youth painted and designed lighthouses to represent each lighthouse in North Carolina. Pictures of many of our 4-H youth having fun at 4-H events were included as well. These pictures featured youth volunteering, learning how to be healthy, competing in competitions, and more. We also had a beautiful banner designed by Tasha Brown, another one of our amazing 4-H volunteers, that featured the 4-H clover being our beacon to fun. We are excited to announce that we received third place for our efforts! In addition, we were selected to enter the Decorated Christmas Tree Competition this year, only six organizations are allowed to compete in this contest every year. We won third place!

If you are interested in being a part of our 4-H program, please contact our 4-H Agent, Madaline Jones, at the Cooperative Extension at 336-849-7908 or by emailing her at madaline_jones@ncsu.edu.
