Yadkin County has been chosen to participate in the SFR 07 Single Family Rehabilitation program, funded by the NC Housing Finance Agency. This program is designed to provide funding for housing rehabilitation in the form of interest-free forgivable loans to qualifying homeowners of qualifying residences. Yadkin County has been approved to provide up to $330,000 to restore as many as eight (8) carefully chosen homes in the county.
Basic qualifications for the homes are:
To qualify, each home must be determined to be restorable to as-new condition, in compliance with current health-related and other state codes for new housing, so that the home may be maintained in good condition for 30 years or more thereafter, at a rehabilitation cost of $40,000 or less.
Homeowner qualifications are:
Disabled and elderly homeowners will receive primary consideration. Single-parent homeowners and others having similar needs or hardships may also qualify. Household income may be no more than 80% of the county median income.
