The Financial Department maintains a centralized countywide system of financial planning. We maintain the accounting records of the county in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and regulations of the local government commissions. Our main purpose is to ensure and record accurate representation of the overall fiscal management of the county.
Some of the departmental duties are :
- Maintain detailed accounting recordings for all County departments
- Disburse payments to vendors
- Calculate and disburse employee payroll
- Monitor grant revenues and expenditures
- Supervise the collection, deposit, and investment of cash
- Prepare certain State and Federal financial reports
- Monitor and manage long-term debt
- Assist the County Manager with preparation of the annual budget
