These Deputies are also responsible for the transport of all mental commitments.  Last year they provided courtroom security for over 250 sessions of criminal and civil court, and logged over 100,000 miles making transports.

DETENTION

Detention Officers operate the Yadkin County Jail and are responsible for safely and securely housing all persons committed to custody from anywhere in Yadkin County.  This includes persons waiting trial and unable to make bond, and persons committed by the court system to serve an active sentence in jail.  Last year our county jail housed 978 inmates.
