Operational Overview:

The 9-1-1 Communications center has two dispatch positions. Each position is responsible for handing of their primary assigned agency. One position is for Law enforcement and one is for Fire, EMS, and Rescue. Each position is completely redundant of the other and can receive 9-1-1 calls and dispatch any agency necessary. In addition there is one call-taker positions. This positions is used to handle the overflow of phone calls into the center. It cannot answer radio traffic.

At Yadkin County 9-1-1 we handle on average each month 2800 calls for service. That will include medical, fire and law enforcement emergency. It doesn't include the administrative calls handle for the Sheriff's Office and other County agencies.

"It takes a truly unique and talented person who can do this job and do it well. Telecommunicators are the unsung Heroes of emergency services. These talented people provide a great service for all citizens of the county. And do so with little recognition."

I would like to thank all the citizens of Yadkin County for helping us help them.
