New Joint Meeting Announcement
The Yadkin County
Planning Board and Land Use Committee will hold a joint meeting on Monday,
June 13, 2011 at 6 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room
of the Planning and Permits building located at 213 East Elm Street in
Yadkinville, NC. At this meeting, the Land Use Committee and representatives
from the N.C. Department of Commerce will present the final draft of the Yadkin
County 2011 Land Use Plan Update to the Planning Board. This is a regular scheduled meeting
of the Planning Board and public participation is welcome and encouraged.
The Planning and Development department serves the Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, Watershed Review Board, Land Use Committee, and Technical Coordinating Committee for the Northwest Piedmont Rural Planning Organization. This department also serves in presenting planning and development related issues to the Board of County Commissioners.

Planning Board
The Yadkin County Planning Board meets regularly on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM. This board is responsible for advisory decisions and recommendations on zoning amendments, and is also charged with approvals and interpretive duties in cases involving the subdivision, manufactured housing and junkyard ordinances.

Board of Adjustment
The Yadkin County Board of Adjustment meets regularly on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 PM. This board is charged with the holding of public hearings and rendering of quasi-judicial decisions on behalf of the County regarding zoning matters, such as conditional use permits, appeals and variances.

Watershed Review Board
The County Watershed Review Board reviews and approve applications for variances and other requests pertaining to administration and enforcement of county and state watershed regulations. This board meets on an as-needed basis.
