Food and Nutrition
The Food and Nutrition Services Program (formerly Food Stamps) is a federal program that provides a monthly allotment of benefits issued via Electronic Benefit Transfer cards (EBT cards) that can be used like debit cards.

Guidelines
The Food and Nutrition Services Program is an entitlement program. Families must meet the following guidelines:
- Citizenship/immigration status
- Household composition
- Income
- Resources
- Work requirements
Available Purchases
Benefits may be used to purchase most foods at participating stores. They may not be used to purchase tobacco, pet food, paper products, soap products, or alcoholic beverages.
