2020 Census Information
The Census is still hiring!
The U.S. Census Bureau is actively recruiting for temporary part-time jobs in Yadkin County. They are hiring for Census 2020 collection efforts in our community. Through partnership programs you could help educate communities and businesses on the importance of completing the decennial census as well as be involved in helping conduct the Census. If you are interested in joining the 2020 Census please visit 2020census.gov/jobs.
Please note this is not an employment through Yadkin County and all hiring is conducted by the US Census Bureau.
March 12, 2020 a mailer was sent out to complete the 2020 U.S. Census. The disruption in everyone’s lives caused by the COVID-19 pandemic reinforces the importance of completing this questionnaire.
Responses to the U.S. Census affect our public health and disaster preparedness efforts across the County. Data collected from the Census will be used to allocate federal funding. Each person counted amounts to approximately $2,000 in funding annually for Yadkin County. This money is critical to the continuity of services and quality of services provided by the County.
This is the first time the Census can be completed online. Please take the time to complete the questionnaire today. Your response can have a real impact on Yadkin County and the future of our community.

In March of 2020, invitations will go out to households across the Country to respond online to the Census. Every household will have the option of responding online, by mail or by phone.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
By April 1, 2020, every home will receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census. When you receive this notice please respond. It only takes a few minutes to ensure you and your family are counted. Here are some points to remember about the Census:
THE CENSUS IS CONVENIENT: Every Household will have the option of responding online, by mail or phone
THE CENSUS IS SAFE: Respondent information is confidential and secure
THE CENSUS IS REQUIRED: By the U.S. Constitution so that everyone is counted-from newborns to senior citizens
CENSUS PARTICIPATION IMPACTS OUR FUNDING IN THE COMMUNITY
WITH:
HEALTHCARE: Health insurance (including Medicare), domestic violence, foster care, nutrition assistance, cooperative extension, wildlife, and veterans programs
EDUCATION: Resources for our children in pre-k through college to assist with teachers, textbooks and other educational expenses
INFRASTRUCTURE: Economic development and the upkeep of our roads, highways, broadband, water, and sewer needs
REPRESENTATION: The number of seats for NC Counties in the U.S. House of Representatives
