Soil and Water Conservation District

Responsibilities

The Yadkin Soil and Water Conservation District works with the Natural Resource Conservation Service to provide citizens of Yadkin County with technical and financial assistance, which is used to implement good, sound conservation practices.

Water Quality Programs

NC Agriculture Cost Share Program (ACSP)

Helps farmers to implement best management practices on agricultural land in Yadkin County to improve water quality and the overall health of the farm.

Community Conservation Assistance Program (CCAP)

Helps local citizens, businesses, and schools address erosion problems on non-agricultural property.

Water Quantity Programs

NC Agricultural Water Resources Assistance Program (AgWRAP)

Helps farmers to implement best management practices on agricultural land in Yadkin County that address water supply difficulties. Please view more information about NC Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

No-Till Drill Rentals

The District offers three no-till drills to rent - two 10-foot drills and one 7-foot drill (reservations required). The rental rate is $12 per acre, with a minimum of $100 for the 10-foot drills and $50 for the 7-foot drill. 
 
For reservations or questions, contact Rusty Hunter at 336-467-7226. Call several weeks in advance of your desired rental date - there is typically a waiting list.
