Voter Registration

The registration deadline for the 2026 Primary is February 6, 2026.

If you are not registered to vote in Yadkin County or you need to update your voter registration there are several options available:

Option 1: If you have a NC Driver's License, Permit, or DMV-issued ID, you may register online.

The NC Department of Motor Vehicles has partnered with the NC State Board of Elections to offer free online voter registration for its customers. Any online registrations must be submitted 25 days before an election; applications submitted after 5:00 PM on the registration deadline will not be processed until after the current election.

Option 2: Mail or hand-deliver a completed voter registration form to the Yadkin County Board of Elections.

Please mail any completed voter registration form to

Yadkin County Board of Elections, PO Box 877, Yadkinville, NC 27055

Hand-deliver your completed voter registration form to

1300 Unifi Industrial Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055

If you do not have access to a printer, registration forms are available at our office.

Option 3: Same-Day Register at an Early Voting Location

If you did not register before the 25-day registration deadline you are ineligible to vote on Election Day or request an Absentee-by-mail ballot; however, you may still register and vote at the same time at our Early Voting site.

When using this method, you are required to provide proof of residency by presenting either:

  • a current and valid photo ID with your address (driver's license, permit, passport, etc.)
  • a government document that shows your name and current address (utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document)

To verify your voter registration information, you may use the NC State Board of Elections Voter Lookup Tool.
