NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held by the Board of Commissioners of Yadkin County on July 19th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Human Resources Building, 217 E. Willow Street in Yadkinville, North Carolina.
In 2019, the North Carolina General Assembly adopted a reorganization of the state’s Planning and Development Regulation Statutes. To confirm to this new statutory framework the county development regulations need to be updated.
As a result, the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to consider comments regarding a series of mandated text amendments to both the Yadkin County Zoning Ordinance and the Yadkin County Subdivision Ordinance to comply with G.S. Chapter 160D. Changes regarding Temporary Uses and Solar Farm Use in the Zoning Ordinance will also be considered.
The public may view the proposed updated ordinances with changes shown in red and/or in blue by visiting the County website. In addition, the proposed updated ordinance can be reviewed at the Yadkin County Manager’s Office located at 217 E. Willow St. Yadkinville, NC during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
As a result of the Public Hearing, substantial changes might be made in the advertised proposal reflecting objections, debate, and discussions at the hearing. All inquiries prior to the Public Hearing regarding the items mentioned above should be directed to the Yadkin County Manager’s Office at (336) 849-7900.
Persons with disabilities who may need special accommodations to participate in this meeting should notify the Clerk to the Board at (336) 849-7900 at least twenty-four hours prior to the start of the meeting.
