“Yadkin County Board of Commissioners after action Report for May 1, 2023”
During the May 1, 2023 Board meeting, the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners took the following action:
- Recognized Yadkin County Human Services Agency Child Protective Services Social Work Supervisor Kim McDevitt and Social Worker Whitney Crump-Bennett for service above and beyond the call of duty.
- Approved the submission of a NC 911 Board Grant application by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office for relocation of the 911 Communications Center in order to comply with NC Administrative Code.
- Authorized the surplus and trade in of an ambulance that has been removed from service due to mechanical issues. The proceeds to be used toward the purchase of a new ambulance.
- Approved a contract with EME Industrial Services for asbestos removal and building demolition for two buildings on Elm St. and Authorized the County Manager to sign the contract and update the related project ordinance.
- Authorized a budget amendment appropriating fund balance monies to the School Special Capital Outlay for LED field lights at Forbush High School and for the replacement of the tennis courts at both high schools.
- Approved a resolution authorizing the expenditure of Opioid Settlement Funds to cover salaries, benefits, equipment, and vehicle costs for the Opioid Action Coordinator and Community Paramedic.
- Approved a contract between Yadkin County and Partners Health Management for the award of Opioid Abatement Funding for the purchase and distribution of Harm Reduction Kits.
- Approved a Memorandum of Understanding between Yadkin County, NC State University and NC A&T University for Cooperative Extension services.
During her Manager’s report, Lisa Hughes updated the board on the progress of the on-going Classification and Pay Study and hoped to have the report available at the next scheduled board meeting.
